Turning Point

“I was doing very well in love, and my career running a scientific team concerned with food, water safety and forensics. Life was very logical — the way I thought it was supposed to be. Then I got sick and paralysed. My nerve axons were damaged. My organs malfunctioned. I lost my eyesight. The doctors could not diagnose my condition and did not know how to treat me. I then understood the severity of my condition.
The chances of my recovery were pretty slim. Stuck in a hospital bed, I started to question my life: Why did I get sick? Do bad people suffer? Do good people get rewarded? How does this work? Why are we here? Who am I? This internal dialogue was intense for months.
I finally realised that life is precious, that every living moment is precious. Being alive itself is a joy. Being able to do things and even face whatever problems you might have right now, socially, financially, domestically, is a joy — because it tells you that you are alive.
I decided to change the way I lived — if I recovered. Until then, I was doing stuff just because it was my job. I wanted to be more conscious about what I was doing.
In quantum physics, there is this principle called quantum entanglement. It has been scientifically proven in a laboratory that we are all interconnected — and that we influence each other. I am so aware now that whatever we do has an impact on the world.
I want to make a difference by scientifically educating people to take good care of themselves and their surroundings — because we are one.”
